Environmental Impacts
Business must take responsibility for the environmental impact of its activities.
These can range from transportation of raw materials and goods, manufacturing, air pollution, water contamination, use of toxic materials etc. Even in a non-manufacturing situation there are still issues to consider, albeit on a more local scale such as traffic, noise, dust and odour and that includes waste materials.
Continuous monitoring and improving performance are essential, minimising the negative environmental elements and maximising the positive ones. The replacement of "bad" products and materials by environmentally acceptable alternatives in becoming a very important issue, particularly in view of the latest regulations on materials going to landfill.
Environmental Management Systems (EMSs) provide in a structured way the means for the continuous management of these impacts. Rabbitt Recycling strongly support these systems.
